An intranet is a powerful communication tool for any organisation and can often be set up quickly using an existing internal network with a spare computer to act as a web server.  You will also need a web server software package and browsers on your other computers connected to the network.

We design intranets for clients using the same methodology we use for world wide web design.  They can include operational manuals complete with hyperlinks to relevant sections, annual leave application forms, bulletin boards etc. etc.

We also have organisations come to us to try to redesign their intranets which, because of unsolicited contributions from all and sundry, have become unmanageable. This conglomeration of input isn't bad, as it demonstrates willingness to communicate and use the medium.   We take into account all existing contributions to determine how the staff view the intranet as well as the more formal requirements of management to ensure an intranet is designed that is a definite asset to the organisation as a whole.
